Arable Silage & Whole Crop
Arable silage mixtures offer an alternative or additional feed to grass or other forms of forage. They are particularly suitable for farmers wishing to increase their levels of home-produced protein and reduce their reliance on purchased feed and fertiliser.
We can offer bespoke mixtures both organically and conventionally depending on customer requirements.
Our standard mixture is tried and tested as a very high yielding silage mix. With a possible late July of early August cutting date it is ideally suited for under sowing, allowing for a late summer grazing of the new sward.

Advantages to Undersowing
- Two crops from one cultivation
- Combined forage cut will give excellent high protein silage
- Aftermath grazing available for fattening lambs / flushing ewes
Whole Crop Silage
- Increases dry matter, protein and starch due to later cutting date
- Reduces concentrate usage
- Increases milk yields
- Increases live weight gain
